Way To Kyaiktiyo (Golden Rock Pagoda) Myanmar

Kyaiktiyo (Golden Rock Pagoda)
I have visited Kyaiktiyo (Golden Rock Pagoda) with my girlfriend last week (1st December 2015). We rented the saloon car to go there. If you don't want to rent the car, there are many express buses going back and fro between Yangon and Kyaiktiyo Pagoda everyday. We left Yangon in the very early morning at 4:00 AM and arrived at Kinmon Sakhan (Kinmon Base Camp) at 8:00 AM where you can make a choice to go up to the top of Mount Kyaiktiyo by truck or by hiking way. (Please refer to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda Map below)

After we had breakfast at Kinmon Base Camp, we took a truck at about 9:00 AM which cost 3000 Kyats per pax for the front seat inside driver's cabin and 2500 Kyats per pax for seats at the back of the truck. There are many trucks going up to the mountain at least 4 or 5 trucks per hour. It took about more or less 45 minutes to the top of Mount Kyaiktiyo by truck. We arrived to the top of the mountain at around 9:40 AM. Then, after 10 minutes walk, we have seen the amazing scenic beauty of mountain ranges and grateful Kyaiktiyo (Golden Rock Pagoda).

We have spent nearly 3 hours there to make a pilgrimage and sightseeing nearby. Then, we took the truck back to the foot of the mountain at around 12:30 PM. We left Kinmon Base Camp around 1:30 PM and arrived back home (Yangon) around 6:00 PM due to the heavy traffic in Yangon nowadays. I just arranged the day trip because hotel & guest house room prices are extremely expensive at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda especially during this high travelling season in Myanmar and I really feel like it's not worth it to pay for their services and facilities.
